1. Who we are
Parole is developed and operated by Halil Çengeloğlu ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at parole@parolegame.com.
2. What we collect
Account information — When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider. Apple may withhold your real email if you choose "Hide My Email"; in that case we receive a relay address.
Profile data — Your chosen username and character avatar configuration (colours, shape, accessories) are stored on our servers and displayed publicly on leaderboards and to friends. Your username — never your Google or Apple display name — is the identifier shown to other players.
Game data — Your game results (score, answers, streak, completion time), daily game progress, and language preferences are stored securely and linked to your account.
Social data — Friend connections (pairs of user IDs), friend streak counts, and Word Clash session data (game results, participant IDs) are stored on our servers to enable social features.
Push notification tokens — If you grant notification permission, we store a device token provided by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) to send you game alerts such as clash invites and streak reminders. You can revoke permission at any time in your device settings.
Purchase history — If you subscribe to Parole Pro, the transaction is processed by a subscription management service. We never see your payment card details — those stay with Apple or Google.
Anonymised usage data — We collect anonymised usage events (screens viewed, games started, games completed) to help us improve the app. No advertising identifiers are collected.
3. How we use your data
- To operate and personalise the game (save your scores, streaks, and preferences)
- To maintain leaderboards (your username and score)
- To process and verify your Parole Pro subscription
- To send you important account or service notices (no marketing emails without consent)
- To improve app stability and performance
4. Third-party services
Parole uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Sign-In — OAuth authentication. Google Privacy
- Apple Sign In — OAuth authentication. Apple Privacy
- Google Firebase — Cloud database, authentication infrastructure, and push notifications. Your game data is stored on Firebase servers operated by Google. Firebase Privacy

5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Game results are retained indefinitely to maintain accurate leaderboard history. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to certain types of processing

7. Young players
Parole is a family-friendly word game open to all ages. We are committed to protecting children's privacy in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable laws.
Players under 13 are invited to play as anonymous guests. Guest play does not require an account and does not collect a name or email address. An anonymous session identifier is stored on our servers solely to enable core gameplay (daily game access). No name, email, or contact information is collected from guest players. Social features (leaderboards, friends, Word Clash) are disabled for guests.
Account creation (Google or Apple sign-in) is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at parole@parolegame.com and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
8. Data security
Your data is protected with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your account data is restricted by security rules — only you can read your own account data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
